thanks yukiko - yeah, they are all from photos. For the time being, my goal is to study lighting situations from photos of empty rooms and statues, etc. It will be easier to work my way into more complex materials like skin that way. I don't usually do traditional sketches first, though I am considering moving back in that direction.

Awesome as always. Was this from life / photo / your head? Also, do you ever do non-digital sketches beforehand?
